CITIZENS ONLINE

Take part in writing a unique song with others, from the comfort of your home!

While we’re in lockdown due to Covid-19, we are exploring ways for people to discover the art of songwriting with strangers through creating a unique song.

Citizens Online are creative songwriting sessions for people to meet and create music together, from your own home using Zoom facilitated by some of the Citizen Songwriters team.

Each course lasts three sessions lasting 1.5 hours each, with a maximum capacity of 10 people per group. The sessions take place over 3 consecutive Thursdays (at 4 - 5.30pm) and includes learning about storytelling and songwriting and creating a unique song together on a common theme chosen collectively by the group (previous examples include, 'Life in lockdown', 'Together we are stronger', 'Kindness in a crisis' and 'Imagine a world....' (for Refugee Week 2020).

Testimonials

"I’m just very grateful to Citizen Songwriters because I feel part of something really quite magical. Citizens Online has given us the tools to express stuff that otherwise, personally, I wouldn’t have managed to do"

"It’s been great listening to other people’s ideas and to be able to work together to then get ideas and go off and doing something on your own. It’s taken down the barriers in my mind"

"In a time when we’ve been a lot more constrained, having to be at home a lot more, it’s been like being able to visit a different country, or do something completely different whilst still being at home and that has been really important to me"
